Annual sports day

Annual Sports Day of Besant National PU College and Besant High School (KannadaMedium) was held Mangala Stadium, Mangalore. Smt. Lalitha G. Mallya, eminenteducationist and environmentalist was the chief guest on the occasion.Inauguration of the sports meet was done through flag hoisting and gun salute.

Addressing the gathering Smt. Smt. Lalitha G. Mallya said, “Sports lightens ourmind and trains us to face challenges in life. Students should participate morein sports activities of the college and develop self confidence. Withpersistent effort they should aim to emerge as great sportspersons like P.V.Sindhu.”

Principal of the college Smt. Ashalatha P. welcomed the gathering. Smt.Krupakshi, Senior Lecturer in Commerce introduced the chief guest. Partham P.Bhandary, Secretary of the College Students’ Council administered the oathtaking. College correspondent Sri M. Suresh N. Mallya, President of CollegeParent Teacher’s Association Smt. Bharathi Prabhu, President of High Schoolsection Sri Nagaraj were present.

Sports person and college alumnus Jamuna, Nitish, the Sports Director of theCollege physical instructor of High School section Usha and Jagadish of BesantEnglish Medium School officiated in the conduct of the sports events.

Sri Mohammad Kunhi, senior retired sports director of Badria College and SriPrashanth Rai, Kannada teacher of High School section participated as thereferees.

Smt. Susheela B., Senior Lecturer in Kannada of the college compered theprogramme. Smt. Chandrika, senior teacher of Besant High School proposed thevote of thanks.
